ASTARI NITE'S DREAMS OF MAJESTY - A NOSTALGIC GOTH'S DREAM COME TRUE

It’s 2017, and we still haven’t figured out time travel. However, Miami-based bubblegum goth rock group Astari Nite may just hold the solution. In their new 4-song EP Dreams of Majesty, Astari Nite pulls synths from late-80’s/early-90’s goth dance floors. Add treble-heavy guitar riffs and listeners are transported to gym class, where they were the only Tripp-pant-wearing kids hanging by the stacked metal lockers. The second track, The Girl Who Tried, is definitely the banger of the release, incorporating spacey and ethereal synths backed by a classic dance-club beat. Still, the unique synths and passionate vocals of The Witching Hour soothes the new-wave soul. Astari Nite might best be described as a fusion of The Cure’s pop-goth and Joy Division’s art-punk with a modern twist on vintage beats. Dreams of Majesty recently dropped on Cleopatra Records, and the band is having an EP release party in Miami on September 9th – don’t skip it, Floridians!
